Welcome to the website for the project "Breastfeeding Support by Telephone"
Breastfeeding Support by Telephone is a research project conducted in four neonatal units in Sweden; Falun, Örebro, Skövde and Sunderbyn.
The purpose of the project is to evaluate the effects of telephone support after discharge from the neonatal unit, in mothers and fathers to preterm infants. This knowledge will provide staff in neonatal units and child health service guidance on how to improve support for mothers after discharge from the neonatal unit.
The project is aimed to families who have an infant who is born preterm and is enrolled at any of the participating neonatal units.
Mothers who agree to participate are randomly allocated to one of two groups:
means that the mother can call the Breastfeeding Support Team between 08:00 to 16:00 every day during the first 14 days after discharge.
means that the mother can call the Breastfeeding Support Team between 08:00 to 16:00 every day during the first 14 days after discharge. In addition to this, the mother will also be called by someone from the Breastfeeding Support Team every day for the first 14 days after discharge to talk about what feels important to her.
If the participating mother or father wants to comment on the project, they are welcome to do so under the tab "Föräldrarsida" (Parents' page). Parents can log in with the code they received at discharge.
When data collection and analysis are performed, results from the study will be published under “Results".
